Sonoma Showcase of Bands, a benefit for The Living Room and two other nonprofits, was held at the Vererans Memorial Building. Six live bands in one building, in three rooms! There was dancing and listening to great music 7pm-12:30am. The Living Room is grateful to the community for holding supporter events to help us continue our work helping the homeless women and children we serve.

Thank you to G&G Market for supporting The Living Room! Donation canisters were at check stands providing us with donations. TLR Executive Director, Cheryl Parkinson, and volunteers set up a booth and spoke to shoppers about the services TLR provides to homeless women and children. We appreciate G&G Market’s support and for dedicating their talents, energy and resources to building a healthy, prosperous community where all can thrive.

Community First Credit Union held their annual stroller drive through the end of the month. They collected 46 strollers from the employees and CFCU customers for the mothers at The Living Room, and donated $849! TLR is very thankful!

The annual Holiday luncheon was held at Church of the Incarnation. 175 women and children were served a special Holiday lunch planned, prepared and served by TLR volunteers and staff. Toys and Xmas stockings were distributed to the kids and lots of photos were taken with Santa Tim (thanks to Santa Tim Nonprofit Charity / Tim Oxford Construction, Inc.). Also, a special thanks to Ame Van Dyke (E.R. Sawyer Jewelers) for helping sponsor the event held exclusively for our participants.

The Living Room celebrated their 20th anniversary by hosting a Pasta Party held at the Church of the Incarnation’s Farlander Hall. This event was a huge success! 150 guests enjoyed pasta from the PASTA KING, a silent auction and live music Thank you to our sponsors: Pasta King, Smith Dollar PC, Dr. David Noorthoek, Murphy-Goode Wines, Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co, and to the many local businesses and indivudals who donated items for our silent auction.
