An Afternoon Affair

Our 2014 annual summer fundraiser, “An Afternoon Affair,” was a huge success!   About 150 guests and volunteers gathered on the enchanting grounds of Pythian House to enjoy fine local wines, delicious hors d’oeuvres, live music and an exceptional silent auction. Proceeds from this event make it possible for The Living Room to continue helping and guiding the growing population of women and children we serve who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness in our community.  A special thank you to Ame Van Dyke (E.R. Sawyer Jewelers) for generously volunteering her time and energy creating and managing the silent auction, and for donating the beautiful diamond pendant raffled at the event. Speakers included Penni (one of our participants) who was brave enough to share her story, Congressman Mike Thompson, and Supervisor Shirlee Zane who continually advocates for The Living Room and for homeless services throughout the County. Also, many thanks to Laura and John Benward who kindly donated their beautiful grounds at Pythian House in Santa Rosa (Kenwood) to hold the event. Laura, an accomplished vocalist, also peformed with musicians Stephanie Ozer on piano and Peter Barshay on the bass. This event could not have been possible without the generosity of our underwriters, sponsors, auction donors, and all the volunteers who worked so hard to make this event successful and memorable.  We thank everyone for their support!
