Legacy Giving, also known as estate or planned giving, enables you to donate part of your estate. It is the easiest planned gift you can make. It costs nothing during your lifetime. By including The Living Room in your planned giving, you are leaving a legacy that ensures a brighter future for Sonoma County women and children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Gifts to The Living Room may be made over the course of one’s lifetime in the form of a bequest through your will or trust. These gifts are flexible and can include a specific dollar amount, a part of your estate, or a portion of what remains.
Planned gifts typically hold financial benefits and tax advantages for the donor. Depending upon your circumstances, you may be able to reduce estate taxes or receive other financial incentives by making a Legacy gift. You are never too young or too old to consider leaving a legacy!
The Living Room has introduced Legacy Giving as a new funding opportunity for donors to make planned gifts that will secure our future, and strengthen the foundation for our programs in perpetuity by providing capital for tomorrow’s programs.

Getting started
1. Learn about the legacy giving options available. Unrestricted gifts of cash, publicly traded securities, tangible personal property, (cars, homes, artwork), real estate, IRA donations, and life insurance are just some of the ways you can donate. Our team is here to answer your questions and guide you through the process.
2. Talk with your Advisor or trusted professional to help you explore ways to incorporate charitable giving into your estate plan.
Remember that these gifts are flexible and can include a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a portion or what remains.
